Scientific research is a vital activity for students, fostering critical thinking, data analysis skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. Scientific research also helps students strengthen their expertise, develop teamwork skills, enhance time management, and explore creative solutions to current economic and financial issues. The Department of Economics and Accounting has continuously encouraged and promoted scientific research among students, providing opportunities for them to engage with real-world economic and business challenges. These activities not only improve the quality of learning but also offer students the chance to explore emerging economic trends, interact with businesses and employers, and expand their professional networks, laying the groundwork for future career development.

The Department of Economics and Accounting has implemented various mechanisms and programs to support students in participating in scientific research. Some notable activities include:

  • Scientific Research Competitions: Each year, the Department organizes scientific research competitions for students, where groups present their research projects to a panel of experts. These competitions provide a valuable academic platform for students to improve their presentation skills, defend their arguments, and receive feedback from lecturers and industry specialists in the field of economics.
  • Scientific Seminars and Thematic Workshops: The Department  regularly holds scientific seminars and workshops on new topics in economics, accounting, and auditing. These events give students the opportunity to engage with researchers, lecturers, and experts, updating their knowledge and developing new research ideas.
  • Support with Research Materials and Methods: The University and the Department provide extensive resources, including access to databases and research materials, to assist students with their research. Additionally, students receive guidance on research methodologies, covering data collection, analysis, and scientific writing.
  • Scholarship and Financial Support Programs: Students who excel in scientific research are often awarded scholarships and receive financial support for research projects from the university, the department, and external partners.

Over the past years, student scientific research activities in the Department of Economics and Accounting have achieved notable success. Many student research projects have been published in reputable scientific journals, presented at national conferences, and won prestigious awards in both university-level and national research competitions.

In the coming years, the Department of Economics and Accounting will continue to promote student scientific research by collaborating with businesses and organizations both domestically and internationally, while expanding student exchange and research internship programs. Creating a positive academic environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking will remain a top priority for the Department in enhancing the quality of education and research.

Some notable achievements over the past five years:

  • Total number of student research projects conducted: 52 projects
  • Number of scientific articles published in journals and presented at national conferences: 44 articles
  • Ministry-level awards: 1 second-place award, 1 third-place award
  • University-level awards: 4 first-place, 6 second-place, 5 third-place awards, and 1 honorable mention
