The Department of Economics & Accounting, Quy Nhon University has developed Bachelor of Auditing programme since 2018. The auditing major is "hot" because it is in very high demand of human resources with extremely attractive salaries. The programme is designed with the purpose of training auditing graduates with knowledge, skill, and professional ethics to work in independent audit firms, state audit offices, enterprises, and other organizations.
The Bachelor of Auditing programme is based on the credit system, consisting of 135 credits. The programme complies with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Quy Nhon University. The training period is designed for 4 years, but students can shorten it to 3 years by registering to study in advance, they are also allowed to extend the study period up to a maximum of 6 years. One academic year has 3 semesters.
The Bachelor of Auditing programme is divided into two blocks of knowledge, including: General education block and Professional education block, with a total of 135 credits. The general education block consists of 10 courses to provide learners with knowledge of economics, society, political theory, physical education and national defense education, mathematics, information technology and foreign languages. The professional education block consists of 42 courses to provide learners with basic industry knowledge, specialized knowledge, supplementary knowledge and graduation knowledge. In particular, the industry knowledge block equips students with in-depth knowledge of auditing, accounting, finance and tax, so that they can perform well in their job after graduation. The supplementary knowledge block helps students gain more soft skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, improve their ability to study other majors in the future and create jobs by themselves after graduation.
The Bachelor of Auditing programme is adjusted, updated annually, and developed according to international standards with a high level of adaptability to the needs of society. The credit training system includes a variety of knowledge compatible with domestic and foreign training programs, increasing flexibility for learners. Active teaching methods are applied to encourage learners to continuously develop their personal capacity. Students can participate in professional knowledge competitions, conferences organized by companies and professional auditing organizations such as ACCA, VACPA, VAA, and seminars with experts on the profession of Independent Auditing, Internal Auditing and Internal Control.
In addition to acquiring knowledge, students also obtain skills such as presentation skills, communication skills, foreign language skills, office IT skills, teamwork skills, time management skills, etc. Third-year students have practical internships at reputable auditing firms with lecturers directly leading the group. In addition, final-year students have the opportunity to work as an auditor assistant in their internship at auditing firms in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, etc. Furthermore, students also have interesting trips during their career awareness internship in the third year. In particular, students receive wages while they are in a graduation internship, and have the opportunity to be officially hired after completing their internship. Some students have signed official employment contracts, probationary contracts for the positions of auditor assistants and accountants before graduating.
The Bachelor of Auditing programme is managed by the Division of Auditing with a highly qualified academic team of and facilities are constantly being upgraded to better serve teaching and research. In addition to studying with enthusiastic support from lecturers in the Division of Auditing, who have many years of experience working at auditing companies and have certificates such as CPA (Auditor certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance), CAT and CertIFRS (Accounting certificate issued by ACCA). The lecturers have studied in France, the US, and Australia. As for facilities, the programme is equipped with a smart classroom with a real data package from auditing companies (Accounting Information System, Audit Practice 1, Audit Practice 2, ...)
